Having given up dairy a long while back, I've never really felt the need for milk. Given that sweet tasting breakfast's like cereals and porridges never worked for both of us... and we prefer black tea and coffee, we rarely missed milk. Yet when I tried making it for a friend, it turned out so good. The beauty is not only is it yummy, it is packed with nutrients like calcium and magnesium while having zero cholesterol! 

Almond milk is mildly sweet, and with dates added it tastes awesome as a sweet treat. It can be heated and flavored like normal milk. This milk can be made with cashews, which has a more bland flavor and works much better to make chai . It doesn't have the slight aftertaste that soya milk tends to have. Best of all, it's ridiculously easy, fresh and with no added preservatives, naturally healthy. The milk should ideally be had fresh, or can be refrigerated for a couple of days.
