One of my favorites is Hummus, so easy to make, super healthy & can be stored and used for sandwiches for almost a week. If it ever lasts that long.
In this recipes red chilies and add barbeque seasoning from Fabindia or sambhar powder (my fav is MTR).. gives it a mild spicy flavor. You could replace the barbeque seasoning with garam masala, or masala powders used for rajmas, choles or curries.
