Abstract
Data are presented from several studies concerning the effect of varying protein intake on urinary calcium excretion, A markedly positive correlation was found between protein ingestion and calciunia. Although the response was not linear, varying protein intake from 0 g to 90 g N per day results in approximately an 800% increase in calcium excretion, irrespective of calcium intake.
